Visitors and Sunshine

Well, a lot has changed in the last 12 hours. This morning Laura was unable to cope with the pain of her surgery and begged me to call out to our friends for prayer. That’s one thing I love about my wife is her belief in the power of prayer. In her most difficult and painful time in her life (truly) instead of asking why me? Or responding in anger that this is happening to her, she asks those she loves to call upon to the Lord in prayer in petition for her needs.

The last post didn’t age very well. Laura woke up around 20 minutes later, while she wasn’t in pain anymore because of the large dose of medicine she was given by the medical team, there was still uncertainty of what would happen next after that medicine had passed through her system.

A little while later the surgeon ended up showing for a check up. She was very happy with how the wounds were healing and overall she looked really good. She and her team revamped the pain medication and schedule. What they changed worked really well.

After everything was said and done she ended up doing really well throughout the day. She has been at a level 3/10 pain. We’ve had friends visiting and even a special little guest. (She visited before the surgery, but i just wanted an excuse to show how cute she is). If any of you want to hang out, let me know! She is ready too see people now!

She had her first “food” in four days, breakfast was vegetable bone broth, jello… and something else. I think there was apple juice.

Right now she is preparing to start getting up and walking around to make sure everything starts waking up correctly.

Neither her or I have gotten any sleep, so were both pretty tired and loopy right now.

I’m so thankful for all of you have helped and offered to help. I might take you up on that soon. So… beware.

Philippians 4:6 - “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”
